129/365 Today

A very pleasant afternoon walk through the village and then along Moss Lane to the pond before heading back along Middlefield Lane, a route that we often do.

However, today the sky began to look threatening and thunder seemed to be all around with occasional flashes of lightning. 50 yards from home and the heavens opened. We made it before we got a soaking and watched through the windows as the storm did it's worst. 

Crashing thunder now and with frequent lightning accompanied by the heaviest rain that I've seen for many a year and then hail too. Nearly an hour of this before it was over.

The main photo was taken on the walk and the extras show the sky getting angry, a view through the window, and finally afterwards (and I'm still having trouble doing a collage). As I write this at 8.30 p.m. there are still piles of hail resembling snow drifts all over the garden against walls and fences.

It was really awful!
