Could this be Summer?
What a joy it was this morning to wake up to sunshine and walk to Princes Street to catch the bus seaward feeling warm. The tide was high, the sea calm and sparkling in the sunshine and it was all mine for the taking. It felt like summer had come at last to Porty.
I was in the water by 7:40am and out at 7:59 feeling the unaccustomed warmth as I got dressed. What a difference it made. I met two passers bye who had seen me swimming and lamented not having brought their cozzies with them on their walk. It was that kind of morning.
I went on the hunt later to try and find a locksmith who could give me an extra key for my back door. Alas the only shop that seems to do the sort of specialised key I need is at the other side of town. It will have to wait. What I did have success with was a bag of compost bought at the hardware shop in Marchmont and delivered to me through the railings after the man delivering it marched it on his shoulders across the Meadows.
