The Pink Pub ….
…. is otherwise known as the Dromedary Hotel. It’s in the small village of Central Tilba, on the lower slopes of the mountain named Mt Dromedary by Captain Cook in 1770. These days, the mountain is more commonly called Gulaga, the name the indigenous inhabitants used for countless millenia.
We left Tathra this morning and started the long drive home. This will take us almost the entire length of the NSW coastline, or about 1200 km. We’re in no hurry, and travelled only 300 km today, to the small town of Greenwell Point, at the mouth of the Shoalhaven River. An evening view of the river, with pelicans, is in extra 1. It’s a ‘down to earth’ kind of place, actually ‘down to the water’, without much elegance (see extra 2 in which I’m making a shadowy appearance).
