‘Tis the season.

It’s absolutely glorious this year.

It struggled all the aughts, due to anthracnose. I almost had it chopped and chipped for firewood. It was an awful mess for years. (messier than the wretched Arbutus). Couldn’t get a chop permit for love nor money (protected). The Ministry of Forests chief inspector of Pacific Dogwood assured me it’d recover in due course.

Pro tip: due course = one point five decades

Anyway, in the end, he was right. It appears to have recovered. Crown is full, fleurs measured by hands.
