Final recce

Headed up to Bishop’s Castle again today to recce the second part of the course. It was mostly wonderful but some bits that were just annoying, with hardly any visible path or having to wade through various streams. I’m also left feeling quite daunted about the elevation as it seemed that there weren’t many parts of the 16 today miles that weren’t uphill. I also ran out of water for the last little bit which wasn’t ideal. The positives are that hopefully some of the mud will have dried out in the next couple of weeks and the way markers will mean less stopping to look at a map.

It was gloriously sunny though and, despite everything, a lovely day in the hills.
