Off to the races

Ben was out of the door by 10.30am as he was off to Newmarket Races with a group of local friends.  Here are Will, Ellie, Sophia and Ben all dressed up for the sunshine.  They have been VERY lucky with the weather, the best of the whole weekend!

The weather was also kind for the first event of the Linton Children's Book Festival - a Ukrainian themed garden story time at Linton House.  It went very well, a great start!

On a less positive note we had quite a scare with our elderly spaniel Jess.  On our late morning walk (after we'd said goodbye to the race-goers) her she was suddenly struggling to breathe.  Martin rushed to go and get the car (which I had to carry her to) and we went straight to the vet.  After some sedation, an x-ray, and some antibiotics she's back home, and very subdued.  No diagnosis but a possible 'enlarged heart' was mentioned.  This, according to Google, is not good.
