La grande Sarah - Froufrou
We did our best to dodge the rain storms today. I managed to go for a run this morning. In the afternoon, we went to the Sarah Bernhardt exhibition at the Petit Palais. I had been a couple weeks ago but wanted to go back to see it a little better. Unfortunately, it was quite crowded today... I guess a lot of people had the same idea as us for the rainy Sunday. This photo shows Bernhardt's costume in Froufrou (1880). The curator had told us that it is unlikely to be exhibited again, as it is very fragile. In the extras are two portraits of Bernhardt that I really liked by Georges Clairin (reclining Sarah, 1876-1880) and Louise Abbéma (reading Sarah, undated).
Bon dimanche!
