Bougainvillea

We’ve never had any luck with bougainvillea but from nowhere, after months of resisting the temptation to water it, It’s started to flower - just a little, but a step in the right direction. The little marks on it, which appear white in the photo, are signs of new life. It won’t be filling out roof terrace with a blaze of colour this year, but it’s showing signs of life. I read that some gardener centres don’t water them for months (like i just did) and then when they starts to flower, they give it a lot of water. I think I’ll just leave it be for the moment though.
