Harry, Hilda & Henrietta (not pictured!)

Managed to avoid the coronation today. I'm not a royalist and have no interest... in this day and age the whole thing makes me feel unsettled and slightly queasy. Thankfully Norm feels the same way.

We headed over Exmoor to Malmsmead (Lorna Doone country) on the border - half of the village is in Somerset, the other half in Devon (added extra of the old bridge). We had a nice coffee in the National Trust shop and then I had a stride out along the river to the R.D. Blackmore memorial. It was lovely and quiet everywhere so I guess we have Charles to thank for that at least ;-)

Did some cross stitch later, it's coming along nicely (extra) and listened to a few of John Short's (Yankee Jack) shanties for one to have a go at. I like Jackie Oates' version of Tommy's Gone (Tommy's Gone Away). I'm sure Rory McGrath did a comedy sketch about folk music where he said something along the lines of that they always say at some point: 'And he set sail from Liverpool, never to return.' It's so true! :'D

Norm made a veg curry in the evening - it was excellent, as always. Norm is the Curry King!
