Curling Up
The tulips I picked a week ago are now looking a little crinkly - but that's the way I like them best.
It has been a dismal day weatherwise - nothing for it but to settle in front of the screen and watch the goings-on in London.
I remember listening to the 1953 Coronation on the radio, and being excited and anxious. Schoolchildren were to be given a souvenir mug and sweets - but I had whooping cough, which meant six weeks off school. What would happen to my sweets? (I don't think I was bothered about the mug).
It worked out well. When I got back to school, my mug and sweets were there for me (mint toffees, if I remember correctly).
I wonder if I will see another Coronation - King Charles is only a couple of years younger than me.
