A Previous Coronation

M and I settled on the sofa early this morning to watch the coronation of King Charles III. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. The music was wonderful and it was fascinating to see this historic event brought up to date and so inclusive.

I suddenly realised that as I’m not especially a Royalist (although I do enjoy our Royal Family), I didn’t have anything related to the coronation to blip. Happily, I remembered I had some royal memorabilia from my late mother, hence the photo of the coronation mug for George VI and Elizabeth from 1937.
