Swans at Bowness and an attempt at red, white and blue for the Coronation of King Charles III.

After a very slow start I dragged myself off the sofa but only because one weather forecast was for thundery showers in the afternoon.

I decided to try out my new (to me) toy that I received on Thursday. By an amazing piece of good luck all the cars in front of me heading along The Glebe (free roadside parking) drove past the very first parking space.

There are lots more red, white and blue themed photos in extras, some more relevant to the day than others.

When I got back to the car I realised I was wearing my red, blue and white shoes!

I turned the tv on as the procession was approaching Buckingham Palace and watched until after the flypast. Then ‘celebrated’ with a mug of Yorkshire tea and a Booths scone (which I’d remembered to take out of the freezer) with butter and Yorkshire raspberry and rhubarb jam. A small bottle of red wine will be opened later.
