Life in Sunny Dubai

CHECK IT OUT!!!

Apologies for this very long shot and that huge empty space on the left there but I am trying to show you a lot here!

After a very busy morning doing more prep, I went over to meet with the HR Director at my old company re photo project. I went armed with two canvas samples and my laptop. GREAT meeting and more to work on. It is all GOOD!

Went over to say Hi to friend Shabnam who waited for aeroplanes with me on Thursday afternoon... she is on the 21st floor and this is the view if she takes a few steps towards a window. Dubai spread out looking North East... isn't it GREAT?

The two large green areas with bits of red (flame trees) are different areas of Zabeel Park - the park across the road from us - largest park in Dubai. The domes in the middle are part of the "educationzone" of the Park called Star Gate. You can't quite see my block of flats from here because they are behind a taller building on the main road. The airport is there in the distance too and if you go large, you can see the Clubhouse of the Creek Golf Club (Sail-like building).

The other significant things are the highway under construction to ease congestion on Sana Junction (where 99% of my journeys begin) and you may note that there are rather a lot of white cars on the roads here... and that large barren space on the left - right now it is empty, but in a few years time when it is built on, this picture will be priceless! Wish I had taken more pictures of empty bits of Dubai as I was growing up. I could have had my own coffee table book, but we don't often see the point of taking a photo of - nothing! Especially pre-digital.
