Dandelion Weekend Day 2
Despite their devotion to the task in hand, the sight of a beautiful clump of Pasqueflower at Barnack Hills and Holes momentarily diverted even the most ardent taraxacologists. Despite my concern about the lack of flowering species a week ago, we found plenty to record, including some rarities.
In the afternoon we headed to Castor Flood Meadows SSSI, which supported an excellent range of old meadow species, several of which had not been recorded this far east before.
In the evening everyone assembled in our living room, as I hadn't been able to book the village hall. It was a bit of a squeeze, but was worthwhile, and the Guinea Pigs enjoyed eating some of the commoner identified specimens!
