Go-al!

While football was pre-occupying many, my thoughts today were with my brother, Alistair, who achieved his goal today of running a qualifying time for the Boston Marathon. To do this he completed the Edinburgh Marathon in a time of 3h16m. Astonishing for his second Marathon, and bettering his time from the Loch Ness Marathon which was 3 h 43m. So proud of him.

His son (our nephew) was life-Tweeting the event for a University assignment for his sports journalism course. I was on tenterhooks at home, waiting for the finish. So this blip has some of my images from before the race, joined with his from after it was all over. Al looks as if he'd just wandered down to the finish. What a hero.
