Common Enchantments

Blooming Roses

We did a drive today to the blueberry farm for blueberries to put in the freezer...very pricey but we love them.  I also got strawberries...some to eat and some to freeze...high dollar habit!!

The lady at the blueberry and strawberry farm had made homemade strawberry ice cream and was giving away cups to those that came by...so we had dessert first!   Excellent!   She also told us of a local cafe where we could get shrimp and fish for lunch...not so pricey and very fresh.     Worth the trip and we may go back there again.

After lunch we went by the Edisto Memorial Gardens at Orangeburg for a walk and to see the roses that I knew were there.  EVERYTHING was blooming!   I have never seen so many roses at one place blooming...probably over 100 rose bushes.  Climbers, waist high and low to the ground.   Every color was so perfect.  The sky was partly cloudy so I did not have to deal with the sun blowing out the colors.    The soft peachy pink in the main photo was my favorite.

We also saw guara or beeblossom blooming.   I definitely will be looking around for this plant to add to my flower beds since it is a perennial and attracts bees and butterflies!   Plus it spreads which is great for my big flower bed.

I put a few other flower photos in the extras.
