Flower Friday colours

What a funny day. Thank fully yesterday’s cold wind has gone but this morning was, damp, misty and grey.

We wanted to return to IKEA whilst something we spotted last week was still available and I was going to buy Chris a replacement Palm plant we’d seen as his current one has suffered over the winter.
We decided to pop into M & S on the same trading estate to do a weekend top up shop. It’s a very small car park and we were lucky to get the last space. When we came out they were queueing around the car park waiting for someone to leave.

IKEA was virtually empty so we got round very quickly picking up what we needed and stopping for a coffee. Chris decided to buy some new glasses for Luncheon club as they don’t have enough that match and they really are very reasonable (£4 for 6 tumblers!)

As we came out it had dried up and there were hints of brightness through the lifting clouds.

I decided to strip the spare bed and put the washing out. It’s is so warm now that despite several sharp showers this afternoon the bedding has dried.

Whilst out I took a skim around the garden to see how things are coming. Orchid99 reminded me of my Camassias under the Hamamelis trees and yes they are in flower. (Bottom right) A white one I bought last year is coming along in a pot but hasn’t started flowering yet.

Next to that is the little Clematis Blue Lagoon  that grows around the bin store, the Montana on the back wall is just opening too.

It’s still the lovely tulips that grab the attention. The collection of three different sizes in the back garden border look great and the pots at the front of the house too though I think the main one featured has been planted in the wrong pot!

In the extra are the cherries growing down Bingley Road in the village, the recent weather has been knocking off the petals in a confetti shower as usual but they still look pretty. Inset is one of two roses still flowering in my bouquet received three weeks ago!

Have a great weekend everyone. If your in the UK and inclined to do so, make the most of the Coronation celebrations even if it’s only on TV and enjoy the extra day, second in a week!
