The Crown Reversal

Today's image was taken outside our usual Friday night pint stop at The King & Queen in East Malling. The little village green opposite the pub has been bedecked in royal accoutrements for the forthcoming coronation, as it was for the Queen's Jubilee last year.
I wanted to include both the pub and the decorations in my image but the only way I could do it was to stand behind this hoarding and take my shot - meaning the royal insignia (it's official name is apparently the royal cypher and is the sovereign's monogram consisting of the initials of the monarch's name, Charles and the title Rex, Latin for King, alongside a representation of the crown)  - and the Union Jacks are back to front. I could have reversed the image but I think it adds something different to the shot - although it may be utter sacrilege to any monarchists out there!
It was then time to head home for some M&S food (in this instance moussaka followed by a dessert of choux buns) and the odd glass of wine or two to celebrate the start of the weekend and relax with our favourite Friday night telly.
This includes Greatest Pop Videos Of The 90's on Channel 5 (we loved the 80's iteration). Although for some strange reason they've now decided to officially call the series "Britain's Favourite Songs: 90's" which is not be confused with "Britain's Favourite 90's Hits" on the same channel!
Each episode covers a particular year and so far we've got to 1993 - what a fabulous wallow in early 90's musical nostalgia which included videos by Whitney Houston, Maria Carey, Spin Doctors, Duran Duran, R.E.M, 4 Non Blondes, Sting, East 17, Toni Braxton and Nirvana. There might have been some rather out of tune accompaniment on our part by hey why not, it was Friday night after all! :-)
