When I visited Stanmer Park today, a man with a metal detector approached me as I passed by, he told me to keep my dog away from an area he had surrounded with sticks, as he had found a grenade! He then said he had found 8 or 9!

I was alarmed and asked if he had reported this?? 

He told me not to worry and carried on doing metal detecting and digging holes!

I felt uneasy, as this was around 200 meters from the kids play area, I walked on and  reported what he told me to the police. 

to cut a long story short, the police arrived and sent him on his way, cleared the park and car park as he did indeed find 3 grenades, one of which he was walking around with in his hand!
