I must admit I’m feeling tired today, and having had a friend over for lunch I just don’t feel like going out at all.

Thankfully, the garden comes to my rescue yet again - this time it’s an unassuming wood pigeon walking through our rockery. These ungainly birds care nothing for the tender plants around them, treading heavily rather that tip-toeing through the bluebells, pansies, thrift and just-flowering London Pride - much to G’s annoyance! Still, in the sunlight, their gorgeous iridescence glows with greens, mauves and purples against the dullness of the grey. Commonplace but beautiful.

Thank you so much for the love shown towards yesterday’s Kashmiri goats.
