Saint-André de Najac

Please note that I am back-blipping by about a week - we have no wifi in our rental house so getting online is a challenge!


Today was travel day from Limoux to our rental house in the Aveyron region...

We have been spoiled for the first two weeks of our vacation as we have been with our painting group at le Monastère and they provided meals and travel to interesting places every day..So...today begins a stage of our trip when we have to be self reliant! 

The first challenge was picking up the rental car which always involves some sort of complication - wrong car, not automatic, insurance issues - you name it - there is always something..This time it was the insurance issue - big surprise...but not worth describing - just that it involved an unexpected amount of euros! 

The first obstacle after that is usually getting out of the airport but that goes well if you understand the concept of following signs to Toulouse when you are not going to Toulouse ..the sign for the highway you want never shows up until several roundabouts later! And we knew abut that from another visit a few years ago, so we were able to get out of the airport! 

The drive to our house was easy  - a toll road and then not a lot of traffic on the smaller highways..We met our host in the village in the photo and he led us to our house out in the country and then to another bigger village to the supermarket and bakery...the essentials! 

We loved the house but were concerned that the wifi was "not working". Yikes! And there did not seem to be a plan to fix it? Also the weather was cloudy and raining off and on and although we could see the cell tower off in the distance on top of a hill, the signal was so weak and intermittent that we could not use it! The hope was that when the weather cleared that might improve? If neither thing got "fixed" we were going to be very much out of touch!

But..oh the scenery and the view form the patio...to be saved for future blips..that is, if wifi turns up here or elsewhere!
