River lily

This river lily (hesperantha coccinea) just appeared in our garden, much to our delight. It is in the iris family, as is the gladiolus genus of plants. The extra shows a river lily flower spike, similar to that of our gladies.

This afternoon I came over all tired. I put this down to daughter G and baby Margot turning up at 9am and entertaining us. G had a fantasy about getting on with a bit of (job) work but that soon went out the window and the three of us went to the kids playground in Sydney Park. Margot had a great time on the swing, slippery dip and loving the other little persons.
