What I did today................
'First thing this morning walk', along Porthmeor Beach, Porthgwidden Beach and around the town. I love, love, love my 'first thing in the morning walk'. We tend to do the same route every day and I've made lots of little doggie friends. Obviously everyone thinks I am the cutest little Collie pup ever.
Ann likes our 'first thing in the morning dog walking route' because she likes to check out the weather conditions on each of the beaches re which is best for swimming. Today the sea was extremely choppy on Porthgwidden Beach which was where she had arranged to meet her friend, Barry, for a swim this afternoon. Mmmmmm............. more of that later.
After breakfast Ann said, 'Trixie, I want to go to M&S at Hayle, B&Q at Pool and the Factory Shop at Scorrier. And then I will take you for a nice walk somewhere. …........That's the downside to living in such a nice location as St Ives. You can't just pop to a load of shops in half an hour.
First stop was M&S because one of Ann's Edinburgh friends wanted her to see if they had any 'Coronation' mugs left. They didn't. Ann went into her bag to get out her phone to text her friend and guess what?.................. her phone wasn't there........................... How my human managed to live for the first 40 years of her life without a mobile phone is a mystery?? Obv we had to drive the 7.5 miles home to get it, because all her bank cards are on her phone and her emergency £20 cash would be nowhere near enough to buy what she wanted to buy, and anyway she feels really lost without her phone. She doesn't even take me out for my bedtime wee without her phone.
Went to B&Q and then attempted to go to the Factory Shop, but there was a road closure and we were running a bit short of time. Because Ann is a very nice Collie pup owner, she preferred to take me for a lovely long walk rather than faff around trying to find another route to the Factory shop.
We went to Godrevy which is one of my favourite places. I get to splish, splash, splosh in the Red River, I get to roll around on my back on the beach and I get to chase bunnies on the dunes. It's fab. After an hour or so, I was worn out. So was Ann, but she'd agreed to go sea swimming at 2pm.
I stayed 'home alone' while Ann went for a swim with her friend, Barry. The sea at Porthgwidden Beach was very, very, choppy so they went to Porthmeor Beach instead and that was absolutely lovely. Ann is loving her sea swimming. It's very invigorating.
After that I stayed 'home alone' again, while Ann popped down to the 'Harbour Pool Club' (where she is going to be working a few shifts – see yesterday's Blip) to show them her driving licence so that they could verify who she is?! ...................Seriously?! ................They've only known her for 20 years?!!!............. It's no wonder that nobody can get any staff these days. The amount of 'red tape' that you have to get through to work 4hrs a week, for a couple of months, in a minimum wage job, is just ridiculous?!!!
I've just had a play in the field with my ball. There was a puppy spaniel, that I've never seen before, that wanted to play with me, but when I've got my ball, I have no interest in playing with anyone. I just want to play with my ball so that is what I did.
I've gobbled up my dinner, (I'm still eating loads, if anyone is interested. Must be the Cornish air) and now I'm snoozing again.
Ann wishes she was snoozing. She's got sore eyes. She thinks sea water must have got into them, even though she never puts her head under the water. She's got a Ressie Ass. AGM via Zoom at 7.30pm. She really hates, hates, hates, Zoom and doing everything online, instead of actually talking to people in real life, but that is the legacy of what lock down has left us with so she has no choice.
…................And that's been our day. Happy Wednesday Evening Blippers. xxx
