Bixby (then known as Felix)

This wasn't taken today but just after he arrived in June 2021, from the cats' protection people.  So, cheating, sorry.

He was fine two days ago, out for most of yesterday and very very unhappy this morning.  It turns out he has (had) an enormously enlarged heart, which is probably congenital.  There's basically no chance he would have been able to live a normal (or long) life, even if he could be stabilised on medication.

He was in the (very good) vets all day today, sedated, and after talking to her we decided that it was time.  We decided not even to go and see him because he'd just not understand why we were crying at him.  That feels heartless but I think was best for him.

He was about 3, which is not old enough.  Not nearly old enough.
