Crathes Castle

Two castles in one day for Le today. Quite the increase from their previous of zero. A wander around the grounds of Castle Fraser this morning and then inside Crathes Castle this afternoon. I couldn’t take Kara in the Daddy bag as planned as it was too narrow in places so she had to be free to wander. Considering it’s a very old place, with lots of ‘don’t touch signs’ and a steep spiral stone staircase she did amazingly! I maybe didn’t get as much time in each room to read the information as I’d liked before she was off up the stairs again but I did like the painted ceilings in the Nine Nobles room with the mirrors to help you not break your neck looking up. It was only afterwards did I realise I’d picked King David. I’d obviously known my namesake was up there somewhere without even reading the words.
