Twineham Road

This tree caught my eye as I was driving home this afternoon along Bolney Chapel Lane, not far south of the junction with the busy A272 at Bolney Cross. The whole picture came together in an instant, what with the poles and the wires overhead, and the bluebells and other wild spring flowers on the roadside.

I parked the car (in a layby just out of sight around the bend) and walked  back to take the photo: just seconds after I climbed back in the car and shut the driver's door, the heavens opened and the downpour continued much of the way home.
