Long Day, Long Winded
The arrival of the daughter, s-i-l and kiddies with cakes from Mason’s, made a departure from our usual leisurely Saturday morning, though it was almost 11am before they arrived. We did a game for Rosie to find her presents but when I did warmer warmer… colder.. she got very scared! She’s really still quite wee.
Then off to football with MrFT and his lads. For the local team, The Spartans FC, have won the Lowland league and so there’s a play-off against the Highland league champions, Brechin City, over two legs. The winners in due course will get to have a crack at the bottom league in the SPFL. An excited crowd (2020 in number, apparently) thronged into Ainslie Park. And it was decent entertainment (OAP £7) - well, until the ref ruined it all by unnecessarily sending off Spartans skipper Kevin Waugh in the 38th minute, for a "last man challenge.” Jees, there were two wide defenders and the guy was just outside the centre circle. Boooo! Anyway, Spartans were thereafter still the better team, stuck in and deservedly got a 90th minute winner.
Straight to the bus up town to meet the SK and go to the Cameo to see The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan. A terrific looking film, dark and gritty. Spoiler: it is only Part I. Then to Harajuku Kitchen for some Nipponese scran and the long bus ride home.
