A Cottage Garden

It is one of my pleasures to pick flowers from the garden and have them all around the house. These were picked last night, from the back garden which is looking a treat at the moment.
The small jug with the Swift on it is also to mark the return of the Swifts to Shandon, where they scream high above us for 4 months. I note the date of their return each year, they arrive anytime between the 12th to the 28th May. I like to sit on the back doorstep on Summer evenings and watch them play.
