An Important Point And A Personal Blessing.....
It was a beautiful spring morning at FBC as we gathered to lift our worship and praise to God as a congregation. The welcome by Pastor Wes was followed by a worshipful rendition of "Yet Not I, But Through Christ In Me presented by the choir and orchestra and our many talented accompanists. After that the congregation joined together in singing more songs before Pastor Wes took us to Chapter 3 of Daniel which tells us about 3 young men who refused to bow down and worship an idol that the king had set up and ordered everyone to worship. They were miraculously saved from death in the fiery furnace, but Pastor Wes urged us not to get sidetracked by the miracle and miss the real point of the story which is for us to answer the question of who is truly worthy of worship though it may cost us everything---and the answer to that question is Jesus! Pastor Wes gives so much more detail in the Live-stream, which is worth your time to watch. At the end of the service, we were introduced to two of our Awana participants who were being recognized for receiving the Timothy award, which is one of the highest achievements in Awana and another young girl made her profession of faith in Jesus. But, for me, the best things about today was honoring my 90 year old mother and my 33 year old son who share a birthday today and having my son come home from the hospital after his surgery on Tuesday for the hip he broke on Monday! It was a long, full day today.......
