Escape to the East
We started at Blackness Castle, one of Scotland's most strategic and well defended. It's unfurnished apart from an enormous dining table, but certainly not a ruin. It was built in the shape of a ship with a "mast" (central square tower) and bow (complete with flag). It has been used as a prison for the middle classes so rooms rather than cells and all with open fires and magnificent sea views! A bit difficult to do it justice on film but well worth a visit.
We spent the rest of the afternoon in South Queensferry where it was the day for weddings!
