The Itchen

On my way back from meeting old school friends for coffee, in Alresford, I took a detour on my way back to Wiltshire, through Itchen Stoke, Itchen Abbas and Kingsworthy. I wanted to visit the water meadows, known as The Shallows, where we used to go for walks, when we were children. The river here is very shallow with a chalky bottom. Perfect for the many brown trout who live here.
