The bog garden

We might be getting a bit carried away when working on the wet area by the pond, it seems to have 'grown' rather than be planned. I've actually paid money at a garden centre for a couple of plants, but the buoys and plastic ducks are from litter picks over the years.  The black is a sort of bog-wood, a bit of wood we found by the river when the weir was removed; it must have been growing there when the weir was built, 150+ years ago, but the anaerobic conditions means it has hardly rotted at all, and now provides all sorts of spaces for wildlife.
