Amazon delivery van

Just to the east of our office, along Chapel Street, an enormous new building is going up, with the consequence that the pavement is closed. This, to get to the coffee shop, I have to go 'round the back of our building.

When I did that at lunchtime, today, I came across this fellow, who somehow reminded me of the old delivery vehicles, the ones I'd see in Ladybird books, when I was small.

Which made me realise that at the time I was reading those books, in the late sixties and early seventies, they were already nostalgic; they didn't reflect what I saw around me, growing up in South London. Maybe it was different elsewhere in the country?
