We found out the airport bus was stopping running, they were loads of roads being closed, and the Metro was being closed off at lunchtime too. All because of the football with kick-off being at 3pm and Napoli possibly winning the league today. Not really that convenient for getting to the airport for our evening flight home you could say. The owner of our Air bnb advised us just to get to Piazza Garibaldi whilst the Metro was still running and pick up a bus from there. So that's what we did, and the place was absolutely heaving at 11am with crowds gathering in the streets and arriving on trains at Stazione Garibaldi to get to the ground, and flags galore waving, and smoke bombs going off and....we think we did the right thing getting here when we did.

Our flight home leaves in about an hour or so - plenty of time for a coffee, a delizie al limone, a sfogliatella pistacchio, a final Peroni perhaps.

By the way, in the end Napoli could only draw with Salernitana and didn't win the league today after all. After all that.
