Clock Face
It has been a bone of contention for several months - maybe years, but too many to remember - that the church clock has been stopped; latterly the glass has been left open, suggesting that it has received some failed attempt to set it working but this merely adds insult to injury. Several appeals to the management have been made, all to no avail.
It's a basic clock, requiring little but regular winding, but is useful to the preacher and choir during services, when even the most discreet glance at a watch would be observed by the congregation. Nowadays we are very conscious of time as parking regulations come into force at 12.30 and we need to move on by then.
This morning we were greeted by this unusual clock face - a joke, of course but would have required the use of a ladder to apply it. Does this mean that the matter is now under consideration?
All we can say is 'it's about time'.
