The endurance games

The snails are coming out of hibernation and looking forward greatly to dining on our garden plants.  
It is said that plants can be protected from snails by surrounding them with sharp grit. This intrepid snail crawling up our conservatory wall, which is harled in the sharpest Skye marble chippings, would beg to differ!
