Grand piano, anyone?
I have a morning meeting to make the case for a company to sponsor the Agile Alliance 2023 conference in Edinburgh. It went well enough, but in the end it will all come down to budget.
More spaghetti bolognese, Seb-style, for lunch. Joanna has cooked LOADS of spaghetti, leading me to eat eat too much.
We got Joanna insured for the car, so she gets to take mum for her Covid booster. I’ve got a bundle of meetings, which pass the time, but achieve very little.
I call several musical instrument auction houses/sale-rooms to see about selling mums Steinway model A grand piano. All three get back to me right away, so they obviously sense money to be made :)
Later, it’s time to head for Oxford and a night chez Adam and Nicky. Holly is cooking supper. There are loads of snacks and beverages to enjoy. A little home made tincture, too.
It’s a great night, that ends with a very dozy viewing of Penda’s Fen, a 70s Play For Today. What little of it I remember includes some amateurish special effects and some very hammy acting, around a portentous, moralising plot. The homo-erotic encounters with the milkman were particularly jarring.
