Mates

Well I was spare today and when I was having a wander in the station I bumped into my best mate Stevie who we started in the railway together back in BR days so he was about to start the engines up on his 221 Virgin Tilting Voyager to Carlisle via Falkirk as the line to Carstairs is closed for five days whilst they put Midcalder junction back to a double track layout rather than a single as it will save trains waiting at signals for the single line to become clear another cost cutting measure back in the time of Beeching where now it costs hundreds of thousands to reinstate what was previously there so we had a good blether about all sorts of stuff including the beautiful weather in Scotland and the rest of the UK anyway it will be a short write up as it's an nine am start tomorrow working the 11 o'clock to Leeds getting me back at 6pm then it's a quick shower and bite to eat before heading to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary where I'm to be put to bed by the sleep clinic team to be tested for sleep apnea and if that is diagnosed it will be no driving my car or train for at least a couple of weeks as they will have to supply me with one of these cpap machines that feeds oxygen into me you would think I get plenty with all the rambling I do but I just feel lethargic most mornings so hopefully and once and for all I can get a decent sleep and feel refreshed in the mornings so I will try and catch your blips for the last few days as it's so hectic I have to sit down on my day off for about three hours to try and get all my comments in as I ain't the quickest typist with my finger or two or three anyway it was a nice chat with Stevie and wished him a safe drive with the jammy bugger doing a six hour shift and getting paid 12 hours as they were short of staff for this trip and like me he is very helpfull to make sure the rail industry does not grind to a halt on a scorching day I even had a White chocolate magnum to cheer myself up as I headed back upstairs and bumped into my brother who collared me for £138.00 as my deposit for a golf week in Malaga next April with 11 other guys from work So movie for the day is "Virgin Territory 2007" See Ya
