"quick Dad, get the bucket..."
A sight like this always reminds me of my childhood.
When I was a lad, the coalman and the rag and bone man would ply their trade from horse-drawn wagons.
If a horse left a calling card in the road, we kids would alert our parents to the fact and Dads - and it usually was the Dads - would all rush out with a bucket and shovel, eager to claim the prize for their roses.
If a Dad happened to be at work, it would fall to the Mums to do the deed.
