I got to see this deer this morning and this evening. 

I read a piece yesterday that discussed how Putin has trashed Russia. Some of it is wrong or exaggerated but: 
- The ruble suffered its biggest intraday fall of the year in early April 
- The businesses that left Russia were big oil, big tech, and professional service firms that made very expensive decisions to leave, costing millions and billions of dollars, and their departure is crippling Russia. Cisco Systems not only left but this week physically destroyed $23 million of equipment, including spare parts, demonstration gear, and furniture. Cisco also did this in Belarus. 
- He said 57% of Russia's business people want to sell their firms
- Russia is selling less fossil fuel to fewer countries and, given its weak position, getting less money for it. India and China are buying less gas than Europe used to and they are getting a $46 discount on each barrel of oil. 
- Half to one million Russians have fled the country 
- So many men are dead or in exile, women outnumber men by at least 10m. (That could get interesting.)
- The birthrate is low. The author is wrong, this is not a recent development, but replacement is 2.1 per woman and the Russian rate is only 1.5.
