Compassion in action
Compassion. Easy to talk about. Now even easier to do.
A suspended coffee is a cup of coffee paid for in advance as an anonymous act of charity. According to Wikipedia, the tradition started in Naples and has spread across the world. It has now come to Edinburgh via The Social Bite on Rose Street, which, by the way, is an ace little sandwich shop with compassion at its heart.
It's been a gloriously sunny and warm day and I leave you with the words of the late Jack Layton, a politician who could make you believe in politics.
"My friends, love is better than anger.
Hope is better than fear.
Optimism is better than despair.
So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic.
And we'll change the world."
PS Horrible photograph. Will try harder tomorrow.
