St John’s spire

Built in 1878 our church spire is 150 ft in height so probably more tall than wide but the blip may qualify for Wide Wednesday. The flower boxes on the railings are a bit past their best with recent wind and rain but are still fairly colourful.

This morning I was helping two of Mrs AMK’s friends serve soup, sandwiches, tea, coffee etc for the weekly warm space with snacks in the church hall - Mrs AMK had forgotten it was her turn and had arranged to meet a friend and didn’t want to let her down. Never mind I thoroughly enjoyed my morning chatting and serving and I got the last bowl of her leek and tattie soup - my favourite !
