Over the edge

Mum always warned me not to over-face Audrey with lots of different people in the same day. She said it would get too much for her. But I figured she seemed pretty sociable so what harm could it reallllllly do??

Well tonight I learnt my lesson. The hard way.

Today Audrey saw my good friend Emma and her fella this morning, Nathan, his brother Ryan, my sister Jo, Jane, Abby and her friends this afternoon plus numerous people we bumped into in Chorlton over the course of the day as well as the contents of two pub gardens cooing over her.

We had lunch cooked by a Masterchef finalist behind our local pub. She has an airstream trailer and cooks street food which she sells in the back of beer garden (see pic). I had a wonderful day. Sunshine, friends, food, wine and Beech Road. Angus was the only thing missing sadly as he had to work.

After our sociable day, we got home and before bed, Audrey had a hysterical fit. The likes of which I have never seen before. Screaming, crying, dry heaving. I can only guess she was overstimulated by our day and by being played with by so many different people!?! Bathtime was awful. She didn't want any milk and the crying lasted about twenty minutes. It was heartbreaking as she wouldn't let me comfort her either. Only being put in her grobag with her dummy eventually stopped it.

She fell straight to sleep just now (later than usual which I think also pushed her over).

I now understand what happens when you overstimulate a baby...

Poor Audrey. I have learned my lesson :(
