Happy Birthday Mum
Today is mum’s birthday, and fortunately her friend Rod was free and able to bring her up to Norfolk for a few days.
We had a late coffee together, and in a ‘Repair Shop’ style reveal, I removed a blanket from the newly renovated bench, which we had lovingly restored as a birthday present. Mum is pleased - and didn’t recognise it as her original rotten rusty bench!!
Work was a bit mundane, plus I was worrying about Henry whose cold has progressed to ear infection in both ears. He took himself to the Dr who prescribed earrdrop antibiotics, but NO ONE had them in stock. I went out at lunchtime with him, to try more pharmacies, and later he went out again to try some other towns, but still no luck. He ended up back at the GP surgery who are supposed to be calling him back when they can provide an alternative medication. So he is no better off than he was this morning.
Cycled up to the allotment after work. Fed Bessie, who for once was in her pen. Then weeded out a few more thistles. It is incredible how quickly the thistles in particular, spring up in my veg patch. They have very long roots and if it breaks then another one will grow. I got a few more out today because it has been sooooo wet. Cold too. I really want it to warm up now. The blankets on the sofa need to be put away by May!!!
Just sitting down to watch the final of Mastermind. I am watching it on the green button - so no spoilers please.
