Grey Heron

There were 2 Heron today but I fed more than that, I think. The male flew over as I got near to the loch and took over half the fish I had. I could see he had a very full crop as can almost be seen from this shot. He then took off back to the center of the loch. As he dropped out of sight I heard the incessant chatter of heron chicks (they sound like somebody clanging a metal bar along a metal fence). I guessed that he was off loading the fish I had given him to the chicks.
I made my way round the loch and spotted the young female.she flew over and got a few bits of fish before the adult male was back, with an empty crop. He took the remainder of the fish and flew back.
I may venture round the other side tomorrow and see if I can spot the nest.
