Quiet Monday: ESTABLISHED

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

It is not a public holiday in Aotearoa today but it felt like one.

It is a public holiday tomorrow (ANZAC Day) and so most Kiwis booked Monday off too and made a 4 day weekend of it.

But not us contractors.

Consequently I had a very quiet Monday. I asked Team Gromit if anyone was around and it turns out that both Corrie and Gromit herself were.

Shenée was FIZZY with excitement. "Oh my GOD, I've missed you so much!" she joked. "Let me tell you about my weekend! I spent it with my BEST friend!"

We are kind of cute together, the pair of us. Like a couple of eejits with our more sensible partners. Yesterday, Caro had referred to the pair of us as "Thing 1 and Thing 2" which was still making Shenée laugh today.

Then Corrie turned up and gave us all of her news. She is loving her new place in Miramar and Siu is back at work after his shoulder operation. Everyone seemed happy and bouncy or maybe it was just seeing each other again.

But then breakfast was over and it was time to return to boring work.

It was so incredibly dull that I was over it by lunchtime. I decided to go home early and pick up lunch on the way. Caro was happy to see me though. And soon I was back on the couch with cats.

It wasn't so bad as Mondays go. Everyone else should go on holiday more often.

S.
