Fingringhoe Wick
We had a great outing this morning, to an Essex Wildlife Trust reserve Fingringhoe Wick. The nightingales were just in! It’s a pity we can’t put sound recordings on Blip, as they were phenomenal! Singing right next to the paths, often two singing together, with chiff chaff and blackcaps too.
It was a remarkable experience.
The reserve is restored gravel pits, with plenty of scrub and lovely views out onto the estuary. There were terns too.
We are planning to go back as they are having a late opening and it will be good to go at a really quiet time of day.
The reserve has obviously had an injection of cash with new signage and a superb new hide. The insect hotels are splendid too!
