A man at work
W made more crumpets today. He made double quantities, so we now have enough for a couple of weeks - some have been frozen. We did eat a couple for lunch - quality control is very important - and they were very tasty.
The yellow gadget is an infra red thermometer - the temperature of the pan for cooking the crumpets is (according to John Kirkwood) vitally important, and so W had to track one of these down. Also used to check that the "lukewarm water" for starting the yeast is exactly 40°C!
It's all go next week - our "wire layer" for the robot mower - to be henceforth known as Husky - rang yesterday to ask if he could come tomorrow. We put him off for a few days so we can first get B back with his ride-on mower. And we may also be visited by an electrician to do the lights in the workshop, and the concrete man to lay a pad for our PV panels*.
And the following week we get the charger for our EV car!
* The initial quote for this was *eck*** shocking, but discussion between the three people involved - the electrician, the chap who will erect the supporting framework, and the guy who will do the groundwork - has seen this reduced quite considerably.
