I have to say that sanding and painting my garden gate last summer has given me a new appreciation of whoever does these jobs.

I’m in charge of four cats this weekend, or, more accurately, they are in charge of me probably. I’m going over to my friend’s three cats and her neighbour’s cat for cat feeding duties and a bit of conversation. As I headed home I saw a well dressed couple huddled under a brolly braving the weather and walking to the wedding barn. I turned round and offered them a lift and then headed on up to Carlisle to get a new phone screen to replace my cracked one. Whilst I was waiting I drained the life blood out of myself looking for jeans and went to sit in the cathedral for a while to recover.
Once home it had just about stopped raining so I went out for nettles and wild garlic and saw a hare loping across the field.
