Phil does Ottolenghi

Another horrid grey, murky, cold and wet day. I got motivated to get on with my Shetland knitting.

I made a starter to take to #2 daughter for the meal they had invited us to at their house. The boys were in good form. They’d been to the library and James had got a book about astronomy. He did really well with it and worked out words like constellation which is really good as he has severe dyslexia.

Phil made a wonderful Ottolenghi recipe with smoked aubergines. It was a really delicious meal but we had no room for pudding. A friend is coming to stay and she’s just told me she no longer eats dairy so I’ll be asking for the recipe.

The boys are allowed a sleep over (ie share a room) so I said I’d go up and read them a story.
